specific questions asked at alumni interview

i had an idea for a paper and was wondering if anyone remembers any specific questions from their yale interview.

no, i am not trying to get ahead in the process by going in ahead of time w/ planned answers (i am a transfer and thus do not have an interview) and no i do not have other college interview experiences to get an idea on the specific types of questions, so anything you can add would be a great help

thanks!

oh great, that helps, thanks

Concentrate on things you have done out of the ordinary. For instance, my interviewer asked what motivated me to want to be a self-taught sax player (Princeton interviewer asked the same question). I was prepared for this question only because I’ve been asked quite a few times over the years. He also asked what I like to do in my spare time. Since I don’t have much spare time between school, sports, work and community service, I told him one of the things I enjoy doing is corresponding with students and parents on CC. So many of my questions have been answered here and I hope that I too am able to help those with questions. Maybe it sounded corny, I don’t know, but he seemed interested and it kept the conversation flowing, so I guess it was ok. A week or so later I received a likely letter.
