^ Dance concert: $10 general admission, $5 students/faculty/staff/seniors. The concert will include Scripps senior dance majors’ thesis pieces and the dancers will be from all 5Cs (and sometimes include limited faculty/alum, but I don’t know about this particular concert). Note that the Claremont dance program is pretty heavily (thought definitely not entirely) modern-based, which can be odd to get used to if you haven’t seen much modern dance before (although after four years of living with a dance major, I can honestly say that it grows on you).

norskmom – My roommate is a choreographer…I’ll be there Saturday night! Good luck to your daughter, and enjoy the show :)

Another event that I highly recommend is WaBaCa on Thursday night. It’s a show being put on by the Criminal Justice Network, Worker’s Solidarity Coalition, and Peace & Justice…group (so many clubs and organizations to keep straight, but you get the idea). The event will include very brief presentations by each group and all proceeds will go towards related organizations. The show itself gets its name from “Without a Box” and “A Cappella,” and will have the 5C comedy improv troupe and three-ish (last I heard) of the six 5C a cappella groups performing. A group called “Challah for Hunger” (started by a current Scripps senior, recently featured on NPR) will be selling challah french toast (AMAZING) after the show. Tickets are $5 at the door (Humanities Auditorium…middle of Scripps campus), doors open at 7:45pm (I recommend getting there early), show goes from 8-10. Specially scheduled over SADIOS for your convenience :D
