Spin bike for short person

I was there Wednesday and the one they had was expensive.

He didn’t have any stationary bikes, just spin, upright, recumbent and air. I was able to pedal comfortably though and didn’t feel like I was reaching. That made me feel better.

I believe upright bikes are stationary bikes. Not spin bikes.

Will you be getting a spin bike?

Costco has more bikes online that they won’t have in the store.

I have a spin bike and I love it. I used to ride at the gym, when I felt safe going to the gym. It’s a lifefitness IC7. I mostly read books or magazines while riding, and only use the little computer that comes with the bike. My sons both use an indoor trainer with their bikes, and I think they use the swift app. Their trainer is killed a kickr, I think, but I can’t remember who makes it.

I actually looked at Costco first because of their return policy. Of the handful of ones that are available online, they were either expensive or poorly rated and most reviews mentioned poor service. The one that is somewhat appealing is this one: Inspire Fitness IC1.5 Indoor Cycle & 1-Year Inspire Fitness App Subscription - Assembly Included (costco.com) @1214mom , Is this like yours?

If there is any way you can support a local business by buying from them, I’d try. You will get good customer service(as you saw already). They will adjust it for you and deliver.

And if what you want is in their showroom, you will have it very quickly!

I got a Bowflex C6 for Christmas. I hate exercising too and LOVE that I can get through a vigorous workout in 30 minutes and be done!

Prior to getting the spin bike, I did ride the stationary bikes at the gym quite a bit (never took a spin class). I’m here to tell you that the spin bike feels nothing like the stationary bike! It’s a LOT heavier of a ride. I freaked out at first, that I had made an expensive mistake but I stuck with it - started with beginner rides that I found on YouTube and have finally worked up to the Pelaton app. Surprisingly, the 20 minute “beginner” rides on Pelaton are pretty easy and I’m on to the 30 minute rides. Still not easy. Maybe some day I can work up to spinning and watching a TV show, but for now, I focus on not dying

No, mine is from life fitness. (See below, but it’s much more than you want to spend). The Costco one is in your price range, and if you got it and hated it they do let you return just about anything.

I used to ride the upright bikes at the gym. Then they got some new ones I really didn’t care for, so I tried the bike that sat off by itself on the gym floor. I like the fill of the spin bikes much more than the “regular” upright bikes.

@thumper1 No, there is no local small place to support. I live in a small town. The only place I found anywhere close was the next town over, like I said and they only had expensive stuff. I have no need for someone to install or fix - I have a live in husband for that! lol

Adding this description of the difference between spin and stationary/upright bikes. Stationary Bike Vs. Spin Bike: How Do They Differ? - ExerciseBike

Okay, I bit the bullet. One of the sites I found when I did my search was this quick article about spin bikes for short person: The Best Spin Bike For a Short Person - The Toned Woman I was thinking hard of getting the Costco bike, but kept going back to my goal of getting something low priced. I chose this one AmazonSmile : PYHIGH Indoor Cycling Bike Stationary Exercise Bike, Comfortable Seat Cushion, Ipad Holder with LCD Monitor for Home Cardio Workout Bike : Sports & Outdoors based on this article and the reviews. I’ll let you know how it goes! I chose a delayed delivery to Feb 3 because I’m really busy next week (my last week of work!) and don’t want distractions.

I’m a little late to the discussion, especially because walkinghome has already made her choice. I just wanted to add that I bought an upright bike through Costco maybe 10 years ago. I use it a couple of times a week. I’m 5 feet tall, and I can adjust the bike to pedal easily. It’s not terribly comfortable to lean forward and use the hand grips or arm rests, but I prefer to be upright, pedaling hard following one of the preset programs but also watching TV or using my tablet.

I hope you enjoy your purchase!

@walkinghome so…is your purchase a stationary bike or a spinning bike?

Regardless…enjoy it!

Good question because the description calls it a stationary bike but the reviewers call it a spin bike. I THINK it’s a spin bike!

Please do give us feedback!
