Sports Management

First, our daughter is at UR and loves it. Fantastic school. Their business school undergrad is highly ranked in USNWR. Our son looked seriously into the SM programs around the country. If that is what you really want to do, you need to apply to the schools that offer that program. It is a hard field to break into and only a few really make it to the top, the kind of job everyone wants (“Jerry McGuire”!!). Lots of these majors end up as country club managers or high school coaches or such…Not that there is anything wrong with that, but I think the dream job is why many pursue this major. But…again, if you really want that major, you need to look at Ohio University, Bowling Green University (both are top ranked colleges in the country that offer SM), and many more. We discovered Rice had a fairly new program. Anyway, that is my advice for what it is worth. Our son decided to pursue undergrad business and has applied to 9 schools, so we are in the wait mode. Good luck!!
