Im a spring admit starting in January
To answer these questions…I asked my admissions director why ppl get spring
his straight forward answer:
USC uses spring admits to admit people the like and want to come to the university, but have lower stats (but probably higher extracurrics and stuff they like about u)
therefore…to not ruin their rankings (and numbers) they give people who don’t have the highest stats spring. If theres room after every1 pays the deposit, they use spring admits instead of a waitlist, and bump some ppl to fall

I got in off appeal. Apparantly my stats were better than some ppl i know who got in fall, but in the end, since i got admitted in mid-may, there were not that many fall spots left, so they gave them to the spring admits with the highest stats (or good followup letters) and gave me spring.

I have NO CONNECTION to USC. first trojan in my family.

It definatley sucks this semester when every1s starting college w/o u…but im saving 1/2 a years tuition, i still go to sc for parties and stuff on weekends, and im taking easy easy easy easy GE’s at a community college (i hear writing 140 can ruin ur first semester at sc…and thank god i dont have to take it now)…i got a job, doing some good extra curriculurs to start out with a strong resume, and making the best out of these lemons (i actually kind of want to thank my admission director for springing me)

Plus, im meeting a lot of spring ppl…and the game on saturday was soo much fun… definitley dont turn down sc cuz u got spring, but do keep in mind other options cuz starting a semester late does have its down falls.
