Spring Break suggestions

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. He is off the third week of March, which must be when all of the Texas schools are off since Six Flags is open that week. The drive to San Antonio doesn’t look any worse than the drive to Orlando on Mapquest. Flying to Dallas and renting a car to drive to San Antonio may be a possibility thanks to Southwest. I will look into the other places suggested.

And since it wasn’t obvious to one poster, I am looking to go on a family vacation the week my son is off school. I am not looking to send my 13 year old to party with college students. I want to avoid any place that caters to college students.

Not sure which place mentioned caters to college students. I know HHI is about as family friendly as it gets.

Take him on a cruise. Galveston has a very active port that has a few ships that frequent it and fares have been pretty great given the lower costs of fuel and the current economy.

A nice 7-days in the Caribbean where your son can run around the ship with his new friends and eat endlessly, all while you sit back with a cocktail and watch the sea go by sigh :)
