Stanford Applicants- Get a life!

I meant a state

california.

Exactly, there’s your hook.
Stop taking your acceptance for granted, there’s many other people here just as deserving as you.

stanfordgirl, you make some good points.

but it’s not right for you to try and characterize everyone who was rejected, or try to paint yourself as being somehow superior to them.

we don’t know the circumstances of people who were rejected. just know that there were many people who put just as much of themselves into their applications as you did, and were rejected, and for no immediately apparent reason. some compassion would be in order, at least for those people’s sake.

^that’s not a hook…

It is for Stanford, just look at the ppl accepted, most of them are from California. It makes sense cause on the east coast there’s hypm, but only stanford on the west coast. The university has to take care of its own people.

no…look at the percentage of applicants from california…

even at my school, the most represented state in my class is california…and i’m on the east coast

if that’s what you’ve been doing, you’re probably the wrong person to tell others to get a life :p

haha ^ nice observation, I didn’t catch that :)

yet another person I’m not looking forward to meeting next year :(

What is the percentage of applicants from california? Stanford doesn’t show the geographical distribution of the class, or at least i couldn’t find it.

Wow, i really opened up a can of worms here. I have been reading the forum for a few weeks now and it was very stressful. My point in making the post was to help people in the process of applying regular decision - not to attack others who have already been disappointed. I just wanted to let everyone know that stats are not everything and that there is no magic formula. Let the real you shine through in your essays and cross your fingers. Everyone applying has worked hard to get where they are and are competing for a few slots. Good luck everyone!

ok im going to Wharton but have consistently checked the Stanford forum after the “Slaughter”…
stanfordgirl… you are wrong here!

Stanfordgirl - As a deferred applicant, who wrote some truly unique essays, I would love to see yours!
