Where is the proof of this though? @Runners
It was on their twitter account. @pisker
oh damn. thanks. i could t find it when i looked. but il believe you! @Princetonian2020
@pisker Also it is on their website under Undergraduate Admissions announcements
@Youwishyouknew withdrew all the schools that I would not like more than notre dame after getting accepted there for OTHERS, something you weren’t able to do
@Youwishyouknew it’s up to you i mean, and i don’t want to fight over you for that. your choice. do what you like
I can’t sleep I’m nervous for tomorrow
@dimsum321 same… 2 am for me.
I will be seeing the decisions (let’s refer to it as a possible rejection, which is what I expect) at least 12 hours after it comes out :(( due to an exam that I would be giving on the morning of 26th (due to the timezone difference, I would get the decision when it would be early morning of the 26th here )
And damn, people are becoming really passionate for Stanford though, that was quite a debate there in the last few posts!
And regarding %age acceptance, although top US schools have really low acceptance rates, the Indian Institute of Technology (especially if you consider the best branches like IIT-Bombay) have an even lower rate. With more than 1500000 students giving the entrance exams, and roughly about 300 getting accepted in the end, (around 200 for IIT-Bombay), the acceptance rate is even lesser than 0.01% :)) which is ridiculous!
(To be noted, the actual process is more complicated, so predicting the acceptance rate for them is difficult. Made this post just for a fun read. )
12 hours left!!! :((
Wanted to wish students and parents waiting on THE decision today the best. I cannot wait to connect with other 2020 Cardinal parents.
Im just curious why would Stanford have rejected so many applicants for EA as opposed to schools like Harvard or Princeton?
@erwinschrodinger I’m a Canadian applicant too! Where in Canada did you get accepted so far?
Preparing myself for rejection. Good luck to you all though!
@leobabytiger They don’t want to give people false hope by deferring them. They know at that point who has any reasonable chance of getting in with the regular admittance class. @Bluebrry I know for me at least, I also want to wait until the end so that I can weigh all my options, like of the schools I’ve gotten into, I have a clear top choice, but I also don’t want to lock myself in and burn those other bridges if I decide they may be a better option.
@reach2020 I only applied to and got into UofT, Queens and UBC, you ?
so did only one person on this thread get an email from Stanford saying decisions were being released today?
I didn’t get an email either, but I saw the official twitter page post that it would come out today at 3 pm PST
@mdorbust Actually the acceptance rate at Cam and Oxford isn’t a true reflection of the actual rates. Undergrads can only apply to either Cambridge or Oxford, not both. This means that the numbers applying are split. Secondly the UK application system only allows 5 apps in any given cycle. With limited options, people have to weigh up whether applying to Oxbridge is a risk they are willing to take. Most aren’t, cause it could be a choice gone to waste, considering the interviews are insanely difficult and test every applicant’s caliber. So the true acceptance rate is somewhere around 5-10%, aided by the application rules and system
I’m pretty sure I got the email too but I’ll check
