***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

7

@MohTamer I got into my EA and I’m waiting on my other 3 including Stanford, but I’m regretting not applying to more schools now that I’m iffy about my EA being my top choice whoops. Good luck to you too!!!

I have new reliable anonymous information regarding decisions today: Stanford will be releasing their decisions at 3 PM EST and not PST. Good Luck :slight_smile:

I applied to 21 schools and my ratio is 2 9 3 with all except 1 reaches. I am international

@terry137 Lol I had to have done the same, I’m also international and I’m regretting not to have applied to more schools, only one, Stanford

I applied to 13 in total! I reside in California and all thirteen schools are in-state!
So far I got into 8/13 schools that I applied to… 3 rejections & waiting on 2 more! But at this rate, I feel like I won’t get accepted to the remaining 2, but that’s okay! The name of the school doesn’t matter as much to me. I just wanted to see where I stand among many applicants. Hope you all have a great day and please rest and reward yourself for all of your hard work. Let’s make this remaining days of high school last! :slight_smile:

I applied to 9.
6 Accepted, 1 Waitlist, 0 Rejections

I applied to 13. 1 safety, 4 match, and 8 reach. So far I’m 7/7 in acceptances but that will likely change after today lol.

And does anyone know when the decisions will be out? I know it’s today (March 25, 2016) but I just wanted to know what time the portal is updated. If anyone knows, please let me know <3

You guys all applied to so many…I only applied to 6, most of which were safeties. I only applied to two schools that were really big reaches (Vanderbilt and Stanford). Stanford is the last college decision I’m waiting for. So far I’m 4 accepted, 0 waitlisted, 1 rejection, but that will probably change to 2 rejections after today.

@ComputerAge Yah I didn’t get an email either. I assume the people who got emails about when Stanford releases admissions are the ones that are most likely going to get in.

EDIT: Sorry! I realized that you got the email if you signed for their email list.

@rykyk973 pm pst time

I’m so nervous

@rykyk97 3:00 pacific time

@rykyk97 3 PM PST (6 PM EST)! Good luck! :slight_smile:

Not sure I understand why someone applies to 24+ schools when you already know you won’t be going to 15-18 of them.

16… Ratio 2-3-3 . About to make it 4 rejections today

@CollegeLottery you only apply to 2 safety, 4 match, and the rest reach lol

@CollegeLottery - Well, if you look around there is only a few that have streaks of Acc. Some are WL at many and then 1 may open up. It’s about odds. In the end, is there a diff between ND & Duke; NU & UofCh; H & Y? I applied to 20 and only care for 1 (and this is only a matter of preference, I couldn’t articulate why my # 1 is better than 2, 3 or 4), but then again if I don’t get into that 1 I have a very detailed chart of why one over the other one with FA at the very top.

Applied to 10.
2 safety - accepted at both
1 match - rejected (Goes to show you never know what these schools are looking for)
6 reach - got into 2 and awaiting for Stanford today and the other 3 on Ivy day.

My D will be a good test case of the value of “average” legacy (low $ but consistent donor, applicant interviewer). She is competitive (admit UCLA Cal Carleton UIUC, wl Northwestern UChic, rej Vand) and no hooks (maybe ballet). Very normal kid who put average effort to apps, all I did was tell her to apply to Carleton. We’ll see…
