open it. If accepted, you don’t need to take ACT or take it relaxed.
DId anyone get a facebook notification that said “Join the Stanford community to see what’s happening around campus” and end up getting accepted? I got one for a different school - since ED results haven’t come out for that school yet, I’m wondering what this means
@lemon415 You’re grasping at straws. Do you actually think Stanford or the school you applied to (it looks like Harvard) would signal ahead of time who got accepted by inviting them and only them to check out what’s happening on campus? The Harvard decisions probably aren’t even loaded into the system yet or they would have released them this week because they’ve had a history of trying to get them out as early as they can to allow the multitude of kids who don’t get in more time to complete their other apps.
Accepted
I know I sound like a broken tape recorder and it’s not fun to hear this from someone who got in, but to anyone who needs it, you will be amazingly incredibly successful wherever you go as long as you have the willpower and passion <3
Accepted!
accepted!! my voice no longer exists
best of luck to everyone still holding out for the regular decisions <3 and to those accepted - I can’t wait to meet you!
no matter what your results were, remember that getting a couple of Californian adults to like you does not in any way encapsulate the extraordinary things you’ve done and the people you’ve affected for the better. keep your heads high and your hopes higher
Deferred…
Any tips for an Asian male applying to the College of Engineering- RD? :o
To all the people who got rejected,
I hope you are all taking the decision well. I’m in the process of realizing that my collegiate career won’t take place at Stanford, but I’m sure that wherever I end up, I will have just as good a time as I would at Stanford. I hope you feel the same way too. To all the people who I talked with the past few days, I want you to know that you helped make the process more worthwhile. I think you’re all amazing people and you deserve the best! I wanted to ask everyone where you hope to go, now that Stanford is out of the way. I hope to see you on another thread. Personally, I’m torn between UC Berkeley, UCLA and USC. Much love <3
Accepted!
Did everyone else get an email from Stanford? I didn’t, only checked my portal from the first email, never got another email.
For everyone who was rejected, in case this helps you put it in perspective: I went to Stanford. My boss (a great guy) went to a school that I’m pretty sure none of you would even consider applying to even as a safety school even if you’d heard of it (which most of you haven’t - I hadn’t), and his boss (our CEO) went to a similar regional school that has zero “prestige” value. Stanford is a great school, but there are a lot of great schools out there that aren’t nearly as selective, and a lot of ways to succeed in life, however you want to define success. I think you’ll find that what you get out of a school (and life) has a lot more to do with what you put into it. After reading your posts (my son applied REA and was just rejected), I’m sure you all will do very well wherever you go and whatever you choose to do.
Yeah I didn’t get an email either.
Accepted after trying to click links yesterday with my eyes closed. Ho. Ly. Crap.
@TheRealNkeezy3 I was having a bad day yesterday and was literally frowning expecting to read my rejection and just close my laptop . Then I saw my Congratulations and started jumping and screaming it was surreal omg
Accepted!
For everyone who applied, this result isn’t the end. The simple action of daring to apply to Stanford REA shows you have the passion, the courage, and the motivation to do great things in life. Keep it up and you will get far!
I was deferred! I’m honestly still in shock since my stats are nothing compared to some who were rejected even with amazing stats.
Question: I heard that deferred applicants have to send in a mid-year report of grades? But I’m not sure if this is true…
Accepted
More balanced than some of my friends/classmates who were denied.
34 ACT, 4.45 GPA, 5’s on 2 AP exams, 3 on another, volunteered with Science, Town Council, church, music, played comp. soccer, worked 16 hrs. a week, solid recs. and essays. But know another friend’s older sister who graduated from Stanford in June with crushing debt (120K) and still does not have a job. My sister was accepted to Princeton (2012), but chose to attend a small, private, faith-based school instead - graduated early with early no debt, was one of 120 people applying for a prestigious job and she got it. Stanford is just one option. Good to keep things in perspective. I am considering all the options and know all of us have good choices. I hate what applying to selective schools has become. Too much pressure.
deferred
does anyone know if the official stats have been published yet? I know last year they were published the same day decisions came out…
