@takacatboy Why do you want to turn down Stanford? What are you looking for that Stanford doesn’t have? Not weather, for sure
@takacatboy Which college are you going to attend instead of Stanford???
This Stanford financial aid is real, y’all. I got my package for Tufts today and it literally expected 2x Stanford in parent contribution. Based on $, I’m pretty sure I’m between Yale and Stanford – leaning Yale. I’m going to go to both admitted student events and decide (but missing the first day of Stanford because they overlap)
@writergirl0316 I’ll see you at Yale , Penn, Stanford!
@writergirl0316 Wow, Congrats for both Stanford and Yale!!! That is an awesome dilemma to be in!!!
I don’t think I’m going to be at Quaker Days (Stanford gave me much better $), but definitely Yale & Stanford! How are you planning on juggling both admitted student receptions in the same week? @MatthewW12
I actually still have not checked my Stanford admission letter yet,
I know I’ll get rejected anyways, with my poor SAT score of only 1390, that would have prolly raised some serious eyebrow of the admissions committee.
The thing is though, being an idealist, i still have some hope
and i do not want to straight up end my daydreams of a Stanford acceptance just yet.
ivy day was a harsh rejection-all around for me
oh well, at least i have two acceptances in the bag: Emory University and Texas A&M University
Emory is a great school to go to in the south i guess (second to rice, from which i also got rejected surprise surprise)
To all those who got accepted to Stanford:
Can you share your essays???
I love reading accepted essays since they are so well written and fun to read!
I also want to judge for myself if the essays i submitted that were rejected were of similar caliber or not.
@writergirl0316 I’ll probably miss the first day of Stanford like you. I’m going to Quaker because they’re paying airfare. I can’t refuse a free trip to the east coast. I’ve never been
Just checked - REJECTED
and there goes away all my countless hours of daydreams
Stanford was definitely a reach school for me but I am now deciding between Vanguard and UC Davis leaning towards Vanguard since its a small private school and has a good pre-med track
@dowzerw @going4three @pro@procrastinator lol so I guess that wasn’t my last post! I’m just leaving because Stanford was my last decision to come in and I am officially done with everything.
I will be choosing Harvard. So this opens up a spot for someone at Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, UPenn, UC Boulder, and Stanford.
@LondonVall I think DD will see you at Harvard. She threw in that app on a lark last minute and knows nothing about the school but I expect once she visits, it will rise to the top of her list.
I have been on CC for 8 years and find it useful for more than just the college application process. There are a lot of people willing to be resources on all sorts of topics. Good luck whatever you decide. Hope you stop to say hello once in a while!
Waitlisted. Accepted at Cornell, UCSD and waitlisted at Berkeley, but will accept the waitlist offer. Myyy dreamm school since 8th gradee <3 Not giving up a single opportunity to get there
I’ve seen sm ppl have gotten their financial aid, did it come in a separate email or was it already on your portal? I can’t seem to find mine. Congrats to all btw
ACCEPTED: 1570 SAT, 4.0 IS, 4.6 W, 800 MATH II, recruited for track, was at the stanford invitational meet today, so happy #Stanford2022,
Rejected Davis, SB tho lol
@jessieg2018 If I were you I would choose UC Davis. UC Davis has its own medical school, not in Davis, but in Sacremento. There could be many opportunities for you to get exposed to the medical school. There is also a big event at the beginning of the school year at Davis for people interested in healthcare career.
@pro@procrastinator @Dataminer Feel free to go out my thread where I posted all my results, but as I stated somewhere earlier, Stanford just isn’t the school for me. The weather is certainly one thing I cannot stand—yup, I’m probably the first person here to say that
but I love seasons, and I love freezing in the middle of winter. Out of all the schools I applied to, Stanford was sort of the anomaly in that it was the biggest school I applied to, essentially the only west coast school I applied to, etc…
I’m still undecided as to where I’ll end up next year, but I believe I’ll be going to Swarthmore or possibly Yale, but I’m leaning toward Swarthmore.
@takacatboy, are you a student or a parent? I see you posting you as being accepted to USC for the class of 2021…
Did you take a gap year and reapply in 2018?
I got in! And that financial aid package sheesh!
