^ Yep, you can add them on through your Dining account or with a credit card. A certain amount is automatically deposited for you if you get the 14 or 10 a week meal plan.

Alright, so there’s Cardinal money that’s given to you via meal plan, and then a separate entity also called…Cardinal dollars.

The money automatically added to your card via meal plan actually expires at the end of the academic year if you don’t use them all (and there’s a maximum limit as to how many dollars can carry over between quarters). So if you have $125 left fall quarter, not all of it will transfer to winter quarter.

The Cardinal Dollars that you deposit into your card are different. This money does not expire (unless you cease being a student), and I think they still credit you with 10% free of what you paid.

Kinda confusing, but once you start making A&P runs, you’ll get the idea.

Be careful about putting cash into the cardinal dollars program. There are not that many places to spend them - basically late night snacks and coffee. If you take less than 19 meals for your plan, the dollars kind of pile up. My daughter ends up feeding most of them to her boyfriend at the end of the quarter. (I guess so they don’t go to waste, but that distinction is lost on me ;)
