<p>You say “No, it’s not” and then follow that with a single case from your high school. If you weren’t aware, anecdotal evidence proves nothing.</p>
<p>The admissions office has stated many times before that the acceptance rate for recruited athletes is under 10%. So no, it’s wrong to say that Stanford is “easy” if you’re a nationally ranked athlete.</p>
<p>Also, only about 10% of the student body is a varsity athlete, and only a portion of those are recruited. And only a portion of those received any boost in admissions. Yes, Stanford has strong athletics, but it’s able to achieve that by recruiting the best athletes with its prestige, its strong academics and its strong athletic program, not by going easy on them in admission.</p>
<p>Check your facts next time before trying to mislead students and others on this forum (especially with only your own high school as evidence).</p>
