Thanks, liontreenlion. :)

Pinkberry! Oh, psh. Cherry on Top. :)

Thanks, liontreenlion. :)

Pinkberry! Oh, psh. Cherry on Top. :)

Haven’t tried Pinkberry yet…I have high expectations though based on your raving.

I don’t even know what these places are… east coast ignorance I suppose :)

Yeah there’s a Red Mango on University. Ten or so minutes away on a bike.

Edge goes to RM over PinkBerry.

I’ll have to learn how to bike then if I get in haha.

I can’t help feeling discouraged about this whole process since the acceptance rate is likely going to be 1-2% again this year (just a guess based on previous years’ rates). 2009 is the most competitive year ever for Stanford, with an anticipated record-high yield and on top of that, a housing crunch.

ok guys here is one for ya, what do u think.
I can potentially make 20 bucks an hour to work MWF. On Tues Thurs I am packed up with classes, and on MW i have one class. Its a ****ty class, the teaching is horrible, and I can potentially go to the school I want to (that I already got admitted to) if I can earn a good 8K before Fall begins. I dont want to pass this opportunity up because it is with a legal office too and it pays nicely for a student.
The class I am taking, both schools I got into said it was ok if I dropped it, especially since it is the only class on MW and that I am completely dissatisfied with it (I am earning a B or A tho). What do you think Stanford would do? The last day to drop is the 8th, and the admissions for S is on the 15th, but with a 99% chance of getting rejected should I even bother thinking about the what ifs for S?

I rationalize that some modern birth controls are only 97 to 99% effective, yet couples trust them that they wont get pregnant… so can I trust I wont get in?
Thanks guys.

I honestly have no idea what Stanford will do if you drop that class and work instead. Until D-Day though, let’s hold onto our tiny hope that we make it in!

After tomorrow, our countdown enters the single digits. Feels like I submitted the common app yesterday.

I know right… I can’t believe we’re so close to finding out either.

According to this thread:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/stanford-university/709746-all-stanford-waitlistees.html#post1062495721

Stanford is considering using the waitlist. Good sign for transfer applicants? At least it’s good to know they didn’t overenroll freshmen this year. yay!

yayors
10char

8 more days (not including today)! and there’s even a chance they might come out 1-3 days earlier… oh my.

Really? They might release decisions a few days earlier? Did not know that.

it’s unlikely.

last year, decisions were released may 12th when they were scheduled to be released on the 15th. freshman decisions are also usually released a few days earlier than the designated date. don’t count on it though so you don’t get disappointed.

yo liontreelion, you’re at Northwestern right? I’ve applied there along with Stanford and I’m wondering why you’d want to leave such a seemingly excellent school; what are your likes/dislikes about the place? I know for one I would be extremely honored to be offered admission at a school like that. Why do you want to leave such a coveted university?

hey crdnlnwhte, I thought I showed you my essays? you never sent yours back :)

didn’t i show you them? i think i showed you at least the main one. so why not NU?

the reason I mention the essays is because all the answers you’re looking for are there :). if you have any specific questions about them, please feel free to PM me.

you’re right that you haven’t shown me your Stanford supplement essays yet.

ah ok, i’ll check over that again then, thanks. i’ll send u my other essays now.
