I honestly can’t remember which one I thought was a better fit, but I remember reading through your posts I got a sense of some sort of bias on your part, whether or not you realized it. I’m thinking it was toward Columbia…
And here’s my rather biased opinion: You like NYC and the proximity to home. Yeah, Stanford may have more computer science opportunities, but NYC has no shortage of career opportunities either. There’ll be internships galore. And honestly it’ll be much harder to move into NYC later in life. As far as the core, maybe see if you can take summer classes online or something? That will hopefully lessen your load a bit. Talk to them specifically about what you can do to make sure you graduate in 4 years.
And I think the fact that everyone’s pushing you toward Stanford and you still have that “but…” reaction is a sign that your heart is leaning towards Columbia. Of course, maybe you’re reading this and also thinking “but…”, in which case maybe you’re truly on the fence.
