Stanford Waitlist Class of 2029

They said “any information on the letter is the only information we can provide right now”

I understand tho it must be quite the confusing time for them…

R we supposed to get a decision by the day after tmrw?

Not necessarily, they just said early August. Although I’ve seen most of their decisions come out on Fridays so Aug 1st could be a possibility.

WDYM most of their decisions on Friday?

If you look at all the people who have gotten in on the waitlist over the past few months, every one of them has received their notification on a Friday (or internationally Saturday). Now we have a limited sample size so this is NOT definitive by any means but if we follow that pattern, there’s probably a good chance we get something tomorrow (August 1st) or the week after (August 8th).

Oh I see, I hope decision could come out soon even if it is a rejection. My alternate school tuition fees deadline is coming soon. :frowning:

Anyone get update today? Also does anyone know someone who’s gotten accepted since the July 1 email?

me too…it’s the only option I got or else I’ll have to join my local Uni :sob:

Did anyone call the admissions office to ask when they plan on releasing decisions?

They’d probably just repeat the whole “info is on the letter” thing.

This is getting frustrating. I’ve paid tuition at my current school already since it’s refundable if I withdraw but cannot book my flights until I know this result. At this point in time it’s pointless keeping everyone waiting because I truly doubt anyone is withdrawing and making spaces for us at this point in the summer. Every extra day is another +~$10 in plane ticket prices lol.

As an adult/parent seeing this thread, I’d strongly recommend you fully plan to attend the school where you have deposited, including booking your travel and everything else. I know you’re hoping that something changes with Stanford, but we are in August - first-year classes at selective institutions are essentially full. The more you’re doing to get ready for the place you’re overwhelmingly likely to be attending, the more mentally prepared you will be for those first days. They aren’t keeping you waiting unless you’re letting them.

Could something change for you? Yes, but I would put that into the “completely shocking” category, and in that case, you can change things around (including plane tickets).

Good luck to you, and I’m sure the school you will be attending is is lucky to have you.

Chances were slim when we first got on the waitlist too, but there’s always hope. Even if we fully committed to another school, we can’t fully comprehend that we’ll go there unless we have a definitive decision from Stanford. It doesn’t have to be positive as most of us don’t expect it to be, but it would be nice to know for sure.

Somebody called the office and they said it would be between the 1st and 10th. So, something this week unless they forget.

Please tell us if you get anything today

Apparently someone got off but they don’t know specifics: Reddit - The heart of the internet

This is honestly really sad. Why admit someone and leave the rest of us hanging? Unless they work on the weekend the rest of us will be in limbo until well after their promise of “early August.” It’s easy to say “just mentally commit completely to your other school!!11!” but when you see the waitlist still moving now and just having radio silence on your end it’s practically impossible to let go of that dream.

Looking at their user profile, seems like an inaccurate source. In a recent reply, they said their “daughter” got into Columbia, but then a few replies before state that they themselves got into Columbia. Also seems like they have a weird obsession with waitlist threads so I’d take their comment with a grain of salt.

ok so does that mean that they’ll release all decisions at once this weekend? Did they ever released on the weekend? Or the next week? Or what are they doing?? :sob:

Legit no idea. We’re all lost here :face_with_bags_under_eyes: Also thanks for the comforting MJ2004 it means a lot to a very stressed high schooler <3

Anyone feel like calling and asking for an update?
