Perfect windy/rainy day for hockey. Great job Hawks!!

Ducks eliminate Stars, will stay in California for their next series.

Penguins looking very strong against Columbus tonight. A ton of scoring chances and they’re ahead 4-0 at the end of two. Malkin has a hat trick.

Very happy the Penguins won but that game got crazy, Can’t believe they almost blew a 4-0 lead.

Goodness, I don’t really care for any of the teams that are left. Go Boston?

Rom, root for my Sharks! (Perhaps for a short time.)

Sure, why not. Go Sharks!!

Though I’m not sure you want my support. I was cheering for Wings, St. Louis, AND Columbus. My track record is impressively bad at the moment.

I guess we will have a crowd here on Wednesday. I never tire of preparing game food…

…tomorrow night the Clippers are playing. Several family members are going. Now that will be interesting…

sevmom, I couldn’t believe it either! I watched the first two periods, then a couple of friends came by and so I turned it off, naively thinking that a four goal lead was safe.
That third period must have been incredibly exciting for the Columbus fans.

This first round seems to be taking a long time.

Three Game 7s tonight!

Am giving up my seat at the Raptors/Nets playoff game to stay home and watch hockey. Not much of a sacrifice, I should confess, as I’m not a big basketball fan. I will add that channel to my remote as it gets a good workout this evening.

I feel sorry for the Clippers players, and the coach, who seem to be dealing with their situation pretty well. They never had any choice about working for that horrible man.

Cardinal…we agree again. I can say the tension in Los Angeles was palatable. Los Angeles all areas including my own is a truly multicultural city…Is Mr. Sterling an a…hole? Yep…he took out weekly half page ads in the LA Times telling people of his charity donations. Trust me…he spent all his money on the ads than he did on the charities. Several family members were at the game last night. Good game…and the only tension was who would win.

The Rangers beat the Flyers so they will go on to meet the Penguins.

And our Raptors won tonight. Basketball is such a strange game. It takes about 20 minutes to play the last minute.

Why am I still a Sharks fan? I should just eat glass, or jump off a small cliff onto rocks, or something else less painful. And it’s not that they lost to the Kings; I always thought the series was about 50-50. At the beginning of the season, I didn’t even think the Sharks would make the playoffs.

It’s not THAT they lost, It’s HOW they lost: by inflicting the maximum possible pain on their fans.

Well…I had a wonderful night. All of my kids, including SOs. and some friends came for dinner. CF…I expected 5 or 6…We had ten.

We have leftovers. I get a feel of how much or many will show up and cook for 4 more. CF, we do have leftovers…want to come over for the next round?

CF, I’m sorry for you and the rest of the Sharks’ fans. Trust me, I feel your pain, after the terrible way that the Leafs bowed out in the first round last year. And this year, like most, we didn’t even make the first round. The only original six team who didn’t. I don’t know why anyone, including me, ever supports this sorry team, but we do, year after year. No game is ever less than a complete sellout and it’s impossible for most folks to ever get a ticket and pay the exorbitant prices.

Hockey is a game that when it captures you, it doesn’t let you go. Congrats to the Kings and to the Wild.

Lol CF, we’ve all been there with our teams. But now the Kings play the Ducks! This is going to cost me some serious money.

Oh Cardinal…we’re Flyers’ fans. 38 years of watching crash-and-burn during April… Now I’m going to root for Montreal, just so Danny Briere can get his name on The Cup. Yeesh.

What an awesome performance by the Minnesota Wild to win Game 7 on the road in Colorado. The Wild had twice blown leads in the final minute of regulation and lost in overtime earlier in the series. On Wednesday, they trailed on four different occasions before tying the game in the last three minutes and winning on Nino Niederreiter’s goal in OT.

Along the way, they lost goaltender Darcy Kuemper to an injury, meaning Ilya Bryzgalov had to come in cold and play the final 15 minutes.

It’s the Wild’s first playoff series win since 2003 (when they also won at Colorado in OT of Game 7 and then beat Vancouver on the road in 7 to reach the conference final).

Good for the Wild! I see them being savaged by the Hawks, but at least they’re in the second round, unlike a certain team we will not mention who collapsed like an underdone souffle, again.

And maybe the Wild will beat the Hawks. The Wild is a good team.
