Starting to get a little crazy...

Aack - this is a language I don’t understand. Luckily the DVD guy we hired does - he mentioned zooms and q’s and other things that I’m reading below. We’re using the music room at a church (where my D has her weekly lessons) and have a fabulous accompanist, so keeping my fingers crossed that all will go well. Thank goodness we started early - I don’t know how clueless people like me who DON’T have CC to rely on manage this process.

Good luck, Gertrude! It sounds like you’ll have everything ready in plenty of time. It’s great that you are starting early. That will take the pressure off later this year when the recordings are due. Keep us posted!

OK, got the DVD made. It went well & we should have the discs/files in a couple days. Once we found all the necessary people & the recording space (and bought the dress, the shoes, the belt & the lipstick!), it was a simple process. Glad to check that off the list. D’s first live audition will be October 12 - coming up fast!

So how’s everyone doing out there? I’m hoping for some music parents to compare notes with as we move through applications, campus visits, sample lessons and auditions. So far, D has one done one live audition, one DVD that was sent multiple places as an audition or pre-screen, two sample lessons, more campus visits than I can count, and is still filling out applications & scheduling live auditions as we learn about additional programs of interest. Not to mention scholarship applications & music competition apps. No music department acceptances yet, but one LAC acceptance where she can choose a music major. She’s a vocal performance hopeful.
