stats on ea?

The number of applicants last year for EA was up 36% from the year before (i.e. 444 applied EA from the class of 2005 and 605 from the class of 2006.) 133 were admitted last year, so the admissions rate was actually 22%. Keep in mind that a lot of the non-accepted EA applicants are deferred to the regular round and are eventually still accepted. The total number of accepted EA applicants from both rounds is probably pretty high, but this may be because the average EA applicant is stronger than the average RD applicant, not because applying early gives you any real advantage.

Good luck, guys. Try not to worry too much over something that you can’t change now. :)
