Stay at UC Davis or transfer to Cornell?

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I’d give you the same advice if the college in question were Georgetown, Duke, or Brown rather than Cornell.

UCD is a perfectly good university, and Davis is probably the one decent college town in California. It’s every bit as good as Cornell in environmental-related fields, including environmental engineering. I see no reason to transfer. You can always explore another part of the country after graduation for work or a master’s.

I have to go with Warblers on this one. Davis is a very good university, particularly in all things related to agriculture and environmental science. You are obviously settled nicely with a group of friends and you are doing well in class. Take that 3.8 GPA (and the money saved) to a top graduate school once you graduate.

Please note that according to the latest USNWR graduate rankings, Cornell and UC-Davis were tied at #14 in the nation in Environmental Engineering. Need we say more?!
