I was in Italy a couple years ago and I read and interesting article in a magazine…wish i would have kept it. It stated that more asthma attacks are triggered/caused by food preservatives than from smoking/second hand smoke. I think sulphites was the most troublesome preservative. Europeans number their food additives and these fall into the E200-299 range. Anyone with asthma should google sulfites/sulphites. It is amazing what these oxygen scrounging chemicals can do. Sulfites are in almost everything, including corn by products, certain filters used in bottled water, anticaking agents used in spices and powdered products, bottled lemon/lime juice.

As an ex smoker, I agree that cold turkey is the way to go. I went through 4 days of hxxl. For a full week I drank a lot of water, took cranberry pills and niacin (over the counter, not prescription grade). I don’t know if this is true, but i heard that niacin is chemically related to nicotine. It took about 6 months for me to totally forget about ciggy butts. I would like to see poor dietary choices run through the ringer like smoking has been.
