This merit money is in line with what other schools gave me in scholarship (Fordham $25K, Ole Miss $25K, a few other schools hovering around $20K)
DD accepted! The Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship, The Martha Bayard Stevens Scholarship, and The Presidential Scholarship, Pinnacle Scholars Program.
My DS was admitted to college of engineering on yesterday. 1430 SAT, Top 10% of graduating class 9 AP’s, the rest are honors, Multiple EC’s, CO of MCJROTC. He received 28k in merit scholarships. Congrats to all who were accepted! Unfortunately, even with the merit scholarship, SIT is still too expensive for us.
Did your D get a full ride with all the scholarships listed. What was the total scholarship amount and what was the stats. Will will useful to share the stats and the $ amount received
Does anyone know what the acceptance rate is for the Pinnacle Scholars program? I got accepted into it and I’m really excited, but I’d like to learn more about it. Offered $33,500 in merit money (Edwin A. Stevens Scholarship, Martha Bayard Stevens Scholarship, and Presidential Scholarship). $41k/year is still a stretch though (got zero need-based financial aid).
Applied for the Business and Technology major
1580 SAT, 3.86 UW / 4.35 W GPA (9th-11th)
10 honors classes and 5 APs
Very competitive HS, no class ranking
Leadership, volunteering, NHS, choir/a cappella, government club, sports up to JV, family responsibilities
Strong essay and recommendations
@kitkat57 - Congratulations!! My daughter received all of the same scholarships but it calculated to $25,000. You are right, it is still a stretch for us even though she also received a grant of almost $8,000 and the research/International Experience stipend of $5,000. Very grateful!
Our daughter got accepted in the Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering program and an invitation to Accelerated masters program (Edwin Stevens, Martha Bayard and FIRST Robotics awards).
(a) Does anyone know the typical class size of mechanical engineering?
(b) The net cost is still very high. So I’m trying to figure out if there are other possible sources of financial help. How does the work-study work? Is it necessary to get an invitation from the college?
Accepted 39k Merit , a few choices to make
Wow! That’s awesome merit.
Whats the Major ?
Whats the Major ?
Interesting call from Stevens today - we thought DS hadn’t gotten a merit award but it was accidentally omitted and turned out to be quite significant. If you didn’t get a merit award and were surprised, double check with Admissions.
A bit late but I was accepted for Music Tech.
33k merit scholarship
1420 SAT
4.47 GPA
4 APs, all honors otherwise
EC’s were mainly fencing, long history w/ production (distribution and building a fanbase through music), and a bunch of writing contests
No NHS, though I am a part of SHF and Tri-M
I was rejected from all but one of my reaches (10 schools) and Stevens was the only target school that I was excited about
