I think you stand a much better shot on writing than reading, and that their is room to make a significant difference.
Get the 8 Test official College Biard book. Work through the three or 4 four chapters on the writing test. Work through recommended Kahn Academy sections. And sit for the writing section in a timed setting for each of the 8 tests. They are not that long— about a half hour. My kid was able to go from 9 misses to 2 with about 5 hours of work— doing what I just outlined, minus Kahn Academy.
If you have a solid English background, I don’t see why going from 17 misses to 7 is unrealistic. Focus hard on just that section, especially if your target college superscores. Read the chapters to understand what they are testing. Then take the test again and again. Read the explanations and understand why you miss every problem you get wrong.
I obviously don’t know your specifics. But yes, I think with your profile, that is a good place to get points.
