Student Drinking

I am a current PC student, and very active on campus. Providence College has been working very hard to revise our alcohol policy over the course of the last two years, including a strict restructuring of the policy in the Fall of 2008. In response to student concerns about alternate programming, the administration allocated additional funds and also expanded the student center (which will be done in the next 2 weeks) to have more 24/7 social space.

There is a bar on campus because it is a wet campus but hard alcohol is strictly banned as of last year. All underage drinking is taken very seriously and penalties are harsh. The campus is in the process of a “culture change”

Basically, wherever you do go to school, if you want it, you can find it. The difference that I have found between PC and other schools is that Providence students are accepting of those who do not drink, and when alcohol is present, they take care of eachother and make sure it is a safe environment.
