Since you brought up sympathy…

I have lived a long time, and in all these years I have never met a person who is bigoted or racist and wasn’t also seriously deficient in a significant and painful way. That is why instead of getting angry, I always just feel pity. I also always wonder why anyone would get angry at people who are invariably pathetic and sad behind their pejorative bravado. Usually it is intellectual and/or social deficiency, and quite often underachievement in acquiring wealth over the long term.

Having met and worked for decades with extremely successful people in a number of different fields, I have seen abundant evidence that even from a young age, the highest achievers are disproportionately compassionate and mature.
