Clay, I don’t know if Strasberg has its own showcase or not. It might not, but I can’t be sure. You can audition for the Tisch MT showcase, the one my D just did which had students from all the different studios in it, including CAP.

Strasberg puts on its won plays AND musicals. But as a Tischie, you can be part of any of the 100 or so productions per year. Every musical on campus is open to you except the CAP studio ones or if another studio has its own musical for its own students (such as ETW had a musical this fall). So, there are Strasberg musicals, GAP musicals (student run musicals that are very good), Mainstage Musicals, Playwrights Horizons has many musicals put on by senior directing students, Tisch Graduate Musical Theater Writing has workshop level musicals, and so on and so forth.

ETW also has senior Independent Projects…original plays and musicals…my daughter wrote her own musical that will go up next month and cast students and even graduates of Tisch from all different studios. The MT talent at Tisch is not all in CAP21.
