Have a fabulous time! Sam Choy’s is there, I believe. Good food with generous portions at reasonable prices.
Excellent! I will look them up. I’m glad my knee gash would be healed by then (otherwise, fresh wounds and salt water don’t like to mix!).
I’m not a fan of sushi, but we did have some California rolls at happy hour today. The weather hasn’t been great (yesterday they didnt have many boat trips that actually went out, and we’ve found it hard to venture far from our condo. We went whale watching today, are going snorkeling and whale/dolphin watching tomorrow, and taking another boat trip to Lanai Tuesday. We will have to come back again to make it to Haleakala after sunrise (to hike). Looks like all hiking for us this trip will be on Kauai.
ETA - BunsenBurner, what did you do to your knee? It doesn’t sound good.
Hmm, the weather on Oahu today was better than it was the rest of the week. Glad you enjoyed the whales and hope Kauai is awesome too. It’s good that you’re enjoying the vacation,
Weather today was great. Yesterday it rained quite a bit. There was a whale festival going on, and I heard some people who were supposed to perform had trouble getting here because of the weather/high winds. Even with bad weather, I’d much rather be here than on the East Coast, where it’s FREEZING cold this week. We have decided we like vacationing in February. This is our first winter with an empty nest, so it’s new to us.
Yes, it’s nice to go somewhere warm when it’s freezing at home. Our S flew to a warm place because he got a bargain fare and had never been to the place before; he wasn’t enjoying the cold temps in VA/DC. We are looking forward to hearing back from him about the trip.
If anyone else happens to read this for advice, blue water rafting on Maui has been great. We did whale watch yesterday, and whale/dolphin watch plus multiple snorkel spots today. Saw two whale breaches plus lots of other activity.
