<p>I second Oklahoma City University and Uarts in Philly. Both reasonably priced as summer programs go, with an option of length of program, at least in the past. My daughter flew to both on her own and was picked up and carefully watched over all summer. There is a bit more freedom at Uarts and it is in the city with arranged field trips (beach, etc) added on. Both use regular staff people and many kids attend more than one year. My daughter loved and learned from both!</p>
