Can you please advise me on which looks better on the resume for a high school Junior/Senior?

Dont have the time for both and planning to choose between a good summer program vs a good internship…

Typically, what is the norm amongst high achieving juniors - do they spend the summer on a solid academic program or internship (assuming pay is not the criteria here)?

the internship may be something you can continue??? and if so, then you can get good recommendations from your mentor, whereas with the summer program, you’re just another kid.

Hmmm … Let’s repost what I said to someone else:

Read your question again and tell me why it doesn’t make sense.

Ah, what the heck. The answer is because the one that is more beneficial and “affective” [sic] is the one that youget the most out of. But a story nonetheless:

Do you see what happened there? The first man had little to give and little to show, but he made something out of it. The second man picked the pretty, showy route but did not make anything out of it and then was left with an unimpressive bunch of dead tomato plants.

The moral is, in your case, don’t worry about which one is more effective in name on your college application. Because it’s only by how you make it impressive that it actually means anything.

Oh, and in the case that I’m still talking in riddles, you should just pick the one that you will enjoy more and will learn more from. Which would you take if it wasn’t about looking nice on your resume or conforming to the “norm” among students, but just for fun and learning?
