<p>Ah, what the heck. The answer is because the one that is more beneficial and “affective” [sic] is the one that you get the most out of. But a story nonetheless:</p>

<p>There once was a poor man with two wooden pennies and a wealthy man with two gold coins. The man with two pennies used them to buy a single seed and planted it in his small garden, where the soil was fertile, knowing it would produce a great bean stalk. The man with two coins used them to buy five packs of seeds and scattered them carelessly across his vast yard, merely hoping at least one of them would survive.</p>

<p>Spring passed, and the man who planted his single seed carefully soon saw a magnificent stalk of beans emerge from his garden. The plant was fruitful (or, in this case, beanful) and was a source of healthful food for the man. But it was only one bean stalk, and the man was not satisfied.</p>

<p>The man who sowed his many seeds with disregard also saw growth, in the form of numerous tomato plants growing and bearing much fruit. He sometimes took several tomatoes and cooked them for his lunch, but left most of them as they were. Soon, the tomatoes began to rot, but he did not care.</p>

<p>As the summer went by, the first man decided to use some of the beans from his lone stalk so he would have more sources of food. After several weeks, he was greeted with six more beautiful bean stalks, leaving him a great deal of surplus food. The man, although impoverished, was very generous and gave away some of his extra beans to local orphans; he planted the rest in a nearby field so they would never be hungry again. The orphans thanked him to no end and even offered to help take care of the bean stalks when the man was sick or traveling.</p>

<p>The second man, however, did not tend to his tomatoes and they quickly wilted under the glaring sun. One day, when he went outside to pick a few tomatoes for a special party, he noticed that the plants had all but died. When his guests arrived, the man, ashamed, told them that the plants, of which he bragged so often, had died. The man was left with no friends, no tomatoes, and nothing of which to be proud.

<p>Do you see what happened there? The first man had little to give and little to show, but he made something out of it. The second man picked the pretty, showy route but did not make anything out of it and then was left with an unimpressive bunch of dead tomato plants.</p>

<p>The moral is, in your case, don’t worry about which one is more effective in name on your college application. Because it’s only by how you make it impressive that it actually means anything.</p>

<p>Oh, and in the case that I’m still talking in riddles, you should just pick the one that you will enjoy more and will learn more from. Which would you take if it wasn’t about looking nice on your resume or conforming to the “norm” among students, but just for fun and learning?</p>
