Our D went to NYSMF last year; she is currently a HS sophomore, interested in voice. She was very happy with the voice offerings at NYSMF, and will be returning this summer.

It’s strongly geared toward classical, but the woman in charge of jazz vocals was terrific, too. Most of the faculty comes from NYC-Philly. I think the two main vocal teachers are from Manhattan School of Music. Most of the vocal work seemed to be geared toward choral, and they got terrific conductors – the one my D worked with was from Curtis and Westminster Choir.

If your D is an accomplished singer who wants to burnish her solo work, it might not be the best choice. But if she is working toward college admission – building repertoire list, technique, etc. NYSMF would be a fine choice.

I researched a lot, and it is hard to do better on price.
