<p>My daughter (then 11th grade) went on an Academic Treks, 3 week, trip in Costa Rica studying sea turtles. She LOVED it, a small group (<15 kids), it was in her field of interest and may have helped her decide what to major in, she got “college credit” (she had to study and write papers and exams), and it gave her something to write about in her college app. AT has other courses, including language immersion, marine biology. They also have Broadreach which is more like a vacation (scuba, sailing, zip-lining):</p>
