pay tuition deposit. then register for orientation asap. the earlier orientation sessions have bettrer selection of courses. our s started fsu last summer and loved it. the one thing i will caustion you to regarding course registration, is that he was only able to register for summer classes at orientation, not fall classes as well. I never got a clear explanation for why the school does this, because it does place the summer students ata slight disadvantage for fall registration.

anyway, how it works, is you go to orientation (which is great), register for summer classes (be prepared ahead of time what classes you want to take. the more organized you are the more you will get out of orientation). then about 10 days into to summer session, they open up the registration window for summer students to register for fall classes. This also will require some preperation depending on what your intended major is etc. after the summer orientation sessions are over, you can go on the fsu web site and see what classes/sessions are available for the fall. that way you are ready to go, when registration opens up in the summer.

For my s, it all worked out fine and he was able to get the classes he wanted. he is working toward applying for the business school and will have all his required courses done next fall.

you should start here… [Florida State University Registrar](<a href=“Page Moved”>Page Moved)

to see what the gen ed requirements are and what you must take. if you know what your intended major is then i would go to… [Academic Program Guide, Majors and Academic Maps | fsu.edu](http://www.academic-guide.fsu.edu/)

to review the academic maps and see what is required of you to pursue your major. perhaps you have already done all of this, but, I just thought I should point out these useful pages.

good luck and Go Noles!
