How do you know where?

They mailed a letter informing me

Do they seperately select the juniors and sophmores or do they both have the same chance of getting in?

Different campuses will mail out their information at varying times. For instance, APP kids should be receiving their info now while kids that are going to Charlotte may have to wait upwards of a month before they are notified.

@nigel: Generally, they prefer to accept rising Juniors over seniors since Governors school is geared primarily towards rising Seniors. At UNC-C, Juniors outnumbered Seniors 2:1.

Since Resa989 has already received her info for UNC-Charlotte, does that mean everyone else also assigned to UNC-Charlotte should have received their letters?

Not necessarily, they send the mail from Raleigh. Some students will receive the mail in one day and others 3 days (depending on where you live).

Yup I live in Raleigh (lucky me I guess) :)

well I live out in the hick towns in the back woods. Haha

Haha, I reside in a hick town as well. Population 7,000.

Same here!!! Well sort of. I actually live in a town with population 600 but its often linked to another city of 7000. I wanted to go to UNC charlotte and get some big city time in during the summer

Did anyone else get notified online that they were a finalist and then receive a letter saying they were an alternate?

Noname, most likely the letter was a typo. I would recommend calling on Monday. Good luck.

anyone else here is on the wait list???

We know of a couple of others who are alternates.
T

I know some alternates. dont worry you aren’t alone

For those of you who have past experience with SVSM, was there an orientation you had to attend?

I guess they changed it up this year, I got a letter saying that I’m an alternate at UNC-Charlotte!

I’ve been at a track meet for forever! I really want to go home and check my mail to see where I’m a finalist at!

How do you know what program you got put into. I know which campus I’m headed to but not which program.
