I have statistics.

For that class you have the option of pairing with someone or doing it alone. Usually the Catalyst award winner for math comes from that class.

Ooh, so do you get to chose your partner or do they autoassign it if you wish to get one. A

You get to choose.

Is this on the first day? I dont know anyone who is taking statistics!

No. It’s usually when you return from break.

Hey I’m taking statistics too we’ll probably meet but that’s a lot of awesome info. How much stuff are you suposed to bring because I’m making a list and I feel like it is already a lot of stuff. Also is there anything that wasn’t on the list that we wouldn’t think to bring but probably should?

How much does it cost to wash your clothes?

@Apet: What’s on your list?

@Nigel: $1.50-2.00 per load.

this is the list: It’s on page 6 for the required items and 7 for optional.

Also, what would you say was your favorite activity to do there? And any that may sound boring but you recommend?

Good question. I think my favorite activity was the US National Whitewater center.

I would recommend bringing all of those items except an iron. You definitely want to bring shower shoes. I believe everyone did at camp.

And everyone LOVES going to cookout late at night. I believe I made 4-5 trips past 10:30. However, you need to persuade a counselor to take you on one of the vans (I recommend David, he loves cookout).

We have curfew at 10 though

I feel like I’m way overpacking already. Just wondering if there was anything that you or other people maybe didn’t bring last year but wished they had. Stuff that wasn’t on the list that Nigel posted? I also think that the whitewater center would be really fun! Less than two days now!

@nigel: Yes, but when you are with counselors you can be out until 11.

@apet: This may seem obvious but you need sunglasses and a lanyard for the keys and cards you will have to carry around.

But everyone, don’t worry about forgetting one or two items. Last year we took 2 trips to target because they know it’s hard to remember everything.

ok, so they wont provide the lanyard?

They didn’t last year.

What exactly is the catalyst award?

Also do we need a sleeping bag? Will we ever stay out for a night or something?

Hi, I got selected as a finalist for SVSM at ECU for 2014. Can anyone (including folks who did not go to ECU) give any information about the program and if there are any awards or scholarships awarded?
