summer

^What did the enthusiasm go? :)

Thats quite a fascinating link you supplied, codered20. :)

"^What did the enthusiasm go? "
assuming ‘where’, hmm i dont know, i got lazy before the may test, usually from oct-april, im very crazy about beating the test, even think about it at night.\ beforei sleep.
but now i dont do words anymore, because i’ve memorized tons, and cc dont encourage people doing that. now im just doing practice tests, which i feel im not im trying enough =/

hey there. you are definitely overstating the efforts. i’m from china, so i know exactly about the conpetitiveness you are talking about. but unless you want to sacrifice your efficiency and health, staying up straight for a week isn’t a favorable idea.

BTW, memorizing 400+ words a day is possible cuz i’ve done it( though i forgot them quickly). i have some friends who can memorize more than 800 words.( though they forgot almost all of them in a short time without reveiwing)

How well did this cousin who stayed up for a week studying do on the SAT anyway?
In response to the original post - - I’m most definitely NOT spending my summer studying for the SAT, I took it back in March [? I think] for my first and only time, didn’t study [because I planned on taking it again, just wanted to see how I’d do with no prep], got about 3 hours of sleep the night before, didn’t eat breakfast! lol, and managed a 2300 :] So maybe you don’t need sleep to do well after all ;]

and pal, asian kids are not so crazy. it is the systems( polical, economical and educational) that suck. kids studying for the SAT actually are luck to have a way out, unlike others who suffer twice the effort and get to study useless stuff( really really really hard math, physics and chemistry), memorizing more than ten chinese poems, 2 passages that are each twice or thrise the legth of the single long passage in SAT( and by memorizing, i mean to the extent that each and every word and punctuation)
studying for the SAT that hard isn’t so crazy now, is it?

Well, INVENIAMVIAM, look at you. That’s amazing actually haha, be proud, be very, very proud.

The summer is not meant to be wasted on SAT prep. Maybe take a weekly class or something, or take a practice test every two weeks or something, but please children, don’t waste your summer. This is one of your last 5-6 summers without a fulltime job, do not waste it.

^ haha. Some of us already have full time jobs…

Art of Mind, don’t compare yourself to students in Korea. If you feel the need to study for the SAT then study. Obviously you are different from students in Korea. You are exposed to english everyday and you are probably better at it, you won’t need as much studying for the SAT like the students in Korea.

Notice I wrote ‘learn.’ When I mean ‘learn,’ I mean really /learn/ front to back, not just recognize for short periods of time.

^ , i dont know about them, but i memorized 2000+words, and i haven’t review them in ages, i still know the words, and have no trouble with sc.

^ Did you memorize them in one day? I can’t believe you.

^no

nvm.

^Okay, then that makes more sense.
