Thank you, frazzled. Yes, this has been a tough week. I was not able to make the funeral of the neighbor’s 16 yr old son this morning, but I heard it was more painful than anyone could imagine. A lot of wailing. And a ton of people. I will be at their house tomorrow. It will be tough.

The friend who died today had moved to Florida a few years ago, but several of us here in town who were all friends in the “old neighborhood” are going to get together next week to celebrate her memory. She would like that.

hugs to jym626. And my sympathies. I’ve lost too many family and friends to lung cancer through the years, some smokers and some not. And deepest sympathies to your neighbor on the loss of their child.

so sorry for your loss, jym626.

Thanks to all.

One of the better things I get from the 'net is a daily dose, via email, of the Japanese haiku poet Kobayashi Issa (1766-1827), which come from a web site operated by a college professor (google “haiku guy Issa” if you’re interested). This one arrived today, bringing LTS to mind:

Missed you, epistrophy. :)

Still miss LTS…

Her spandrels continue to do great things to support the TCH-Maternity Center down here in Houston. The building is rising gracefully into the sky.

I just received word today that a good friend died of small cell lung cancer. He was given 6 months to live ten years ago so his is a remarkable outcome, I suppose, but I am sad.

mimk6, sorry to hear about the loss of a close friend of yours to lung cancer.

I was just thinking about LTS today…

Just after seeing this thread had been brought back up, I received an email from a friend about a cleaning service for women undergoing cancer treatments.

A cursory search for Cleaning For a Reason brought up a Snopes review of the non profit organization. [snopes.com: Cleaning for a Reason](Cleaning for a Reason | Snopes.com)

I never knew LTS she must have been a gret woman because I know of her, and have seen how everyone loved and continues to remember her.

LTS – her spirit, anyway – lives:

it is also time to think about cherry blossom season in DC…makes me think of her.

I love seeing this thread bumped. DS texted over the weekend that he and some college buds had raised a glass to friends they’d lost. Here’s to LTS.

A glass of a fine American red!

I hope her daughter is doing ok, and knows that her online friends are remembering her mother fondly.

Was anyone able to connect with her daughter with info about her posts here?

Her daughter has always been included in my prayers. I hope all is well with her.

I think Marite was in contact with LTS’s D a couple of times.
