Bumping again for those who want to continue lighting candles

Lit my candle. Another one here with you…

Sunrise and her family and friends, May you feel the warmth of another candle lit

Another flame, another prayer, another hug to you, sunrise, and your loving family as they accompany you these last few steps.

Sunrise I continue to keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Prayers for you and your family.

Thinking of you Sunrise tonight with this Bette Midler verse from The Rose

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose.

Oh, Bonnie, how inspirational! Tears sprung to my eyes. I don’t think I’ll listen to that song again without thinking of sunrise.

10 p.m. and another candle lit for sunrise with the fervent hope that she is pain free and at peace.

Keeping Sunrise and her family and friends in my prayers.

Do we know of sunrise’s religious/spiritual affiliations or beliefs, if any? Having known people from a variety of religious traditions (and lack thereof), I know prayer can be a complicated topic. Regardless, my thoughts are with her and her family and friends.

From her posts, she says she is not “religious”. She is Asian, and her husband and sons are Jewish. She once posted that she welcomes prayer but not of the for-her-soul variety. She has welcomed all the hugs, warm thoughts, and positive energy sent her way without referencing them in any religious context. Perhaps someone who knows her IRL can help us here.

At the end of the day, quite literally in this case, I am not sure a specific religion is as relevant as the sentiment behind them. I’m fairly non-religious, but I very much believe that our souls are somehow released into a better place. None of us can guarantee a heaven or an afterlife even if you believe it to be true, but I do think it is within our powers to provide a loving entry into whatever’s next by our collective spirit and good intentions. And I think intentions are very meaningful to Sunriseeast. I’ve been reading some of her posts off and on over the last few days. In fact, I’ve made some big immediate changes based on a few of them!

It is because of this that I do so hope Sunriseeast can feel the warmth around her from across the globe and from different religions with the sincere hope and prayers that she finds peace in leaving this world knowing that her family will one day again find joy and will remember her in that moment so her spirit might come along for the ride.

Beautiful post, Modadunn. Thinking of sunriseeast and her family.

Thanks for the (beautiful) clarification. :)

That was beautiful Modadunn. Lit another candle in honor of a very special lady. Thinking of you and your family Sunrise.

Sitting here quietly watching the dawn of a beautiful new day and thinking of you, sunrise.

I have been moved by all the beautiful poems and prose posted in recent days. Thank you.

How We Love!

Life has taught me this:

Everyday is new
And if anything is true,
All that matters when were through
Is how we love.

Faced with what we lack
Some things fall apart.
From the ashes new dreams start, but
All that matters to the heart is how we love

How we love, how we love
From the smallest act of kindness
In a world of smart and hurt,
In spite of our mistakes chances come again.
If we lose or if we win,
All that matter in the end is how we love

How we love, how we love.
I will not forget your kindness when I needed it so much.
Sometimes we forget trying to be so strong
In this world of right and wrong.
All that matters when weve gone,
All that mattered all along,
All we have that does live on
Is how weve loved.
