I was one of the 20 admitted off the wait list!

I returned the card saying that I wanted to stay on the wait list within a week of receiving my wait list letter in the mail. Sometime in the next three weeks, I was able to visit Swarthmore again. During an information session, I was able to speak with one of the Assistant Dean of Admissions. I’m not sure if he remembered me, but I did say my name and reiterated how much I wanted to attend. I also wrote a letter to Swarthmore stating briefly exactly why Swarthmore was the best fit for me and what I had accomplished since submitting my application in January, including becoming an Intel STS semifinalist and the first author of a published paper on cancer research. I also had my favorite biology teacher, who has known me for four years, write me an extra recommendation. I don’t know whether Swarthmore actually wanted an extra recommendation, but I knew that this teacher knew my love for biology and how hard I worked in and out of the classroom.

I am looking to double major in biochemistry and history/english at Swarthmore.
If anybody would like me to post my stats, just let me know!
