@wshsmom is correct. He should just make sure to keep his options open by taking the intro classes for all of the majors he’s considering. That shouldn’t be hard, especially with regards to the Math classes. Plus, Econ is in D2 (social sciences distribution area) and math and physics are in D3 (STEM distribution area), so whichever he chooses, he will at least be fulfilling multiple distribution area requirements.
