<p>From your response I think you should rule out option (2). Prestigious affiliation/school is only necessary if you have your eyes fixed on a top-tier faculty position. Otherwise it is a waste of time and energy given your situation. </p>
<p>If option (3) is open (if you can actually find work somewhere close to where your GF goes to school), then my suggestion is to do an internship/co-op there for fall 2012 semester. That way you get to experience option (3) (with less pay tho) without losing (1). That way it would be way easier to decide btwn 1 and 3 at the end of 2012.</p>
