Last night’s show was pretty good, though the choreography was not as consistently excellent as last week, IMO. I was really disappointed in the girls being sent home and Derek saved (I think that’s his name) from the stage team. Makes no sense to me at all!!! Oh well.
I was disappointed that Derek was saved also because his dance last night pretty much assures he will be going home next week anyway.
Derek seems to have nine lives. I liked Edson better, but Derek must have a large support group back home voting for him. He is a good dancer in his style, but was terrible at hip hop last week. Edson was more versatile imo. Good show tonight.
Lots of good dancing tonite (and I agree that losing Edson over Derek was hard to understand), but I miss ballroom…
Some of these street performers are getting passes for having no technique…cough…megs, while Jim is getting critiqued at a whole other level.
I don’t enjoy watching untrained dancers, though most left aren’t really untrained anymore.
Dance is an art that takes hours every week and years and years in the studio. It seems like a cheap short cut. I don’t care to see one more hip hop routine where they’re just jerking and punching the air…jaja…im talking about your solos.
Loved Yaya and Alex Freakin’ Wong doing Bollywood.
I agree completely!! And all the mugging of the “stank face”…why do all people doing that style pretty much have to look angry at the world? It’s just boring, IMO.
My only guess about the Derek situation and his longevity on the show, despite almost NEVER seeing anything positive about him on social media, is the revelation last night that he is best friends with Ricky Ubeda, last year’s winner. Not that it’s “rigged”…but I suspect there is a huge base of friends in the dance world that are supporting him… Just a theory.
Also, Gabby is pretty much flawless, in my opinion.
Yaya knows Phillip chbeeb…sp?, several went to Victor’s Miami studio, Travis has had connections as well. I think the reality is that the dance community ends up being pretty small, especially if they compete. Also there is a strong contingent in Utah for ballroom dancers. Not that they’re doing ballroom anymore, they’re too caught up with the hip hop stuff
Well, good. I was satisfied with tonight’s results. And Gabby’s duet with Robert was breathtaking and perfect and just one of those moments that are why I watch this show.
Decent episode, but I don’t love anyone enough to vote.
The obvious lack of training with the street dancers is really standing out now…why won’t megs get cut already?
I could just watch Jim and Gabby dance with the pros all night.
I agree. The Paso that Megs did was really painful to watch. She has come a long way and learned a lot, but I think she is (hopefully) done now. I guess after the next episode they will have the finals? With just two street and two stage dancers? My pick for those final four would be Gabby (who is my pick to win!), Jim, Jaja and Virgil. Though if there did not have to be two street and two stage dancers in the finals (which is just my assumption), I would keep Hailey (the blonde) over Jaja for sure.
I actually like JaJa better in styles other then her own.
I like Megs but Neptune did so much better in other styles than Megs.
Don’t get me wrong…I LOVE Jaja’s personality and she has done great…but this week her lack of technique really did show up. I also admire Megs a lot…obviously she is not accustomed to being in “girly” dances and costumes and, by and large, has handled the situations she’s had to be outside that comfort zone fairly well. But her lack of technique in that paso was just way too obvious.
Jim has had hip hop three times. What a waste of his beautiful talent.
Is Jim ever going to get to dance in his style? Well I know he won’t be given ballet but is contemporary too much to ask?
I am talking to the judges like a loon…none of you have any business critiquing him…
Gonna miss Jim…I was hoping Hayley would be the one to go. She’s a beautiful dancer but Jim is just exquisite. Megz was the right choice, though.
I’m rooting for Gaby and Virgil to win.
Jim should have won. But I didn’t vote. It’s my fault. I’m sorry. So now I’m on team JaJa.
I was really hoping to see Jim and Alex do a.number together. The judges once again manipulated the results with their critiques of him.
I’m not going to finish out the season, I’m not interested any more.
I really didn’t care for this format, I’m really not interested in watching untrained dancers.
