WUB-A was changed to Winter Working Blue my 2/c year. It was a source of great pride, and quite a few chuckles, when my classmates (and I did it, too) would announce over the 1MC that the uniform for the day was Working Uniform Blue Alpha.

It was fun sticking our finger in the eye of the administration. :D

WUB-D was the summer uniform.

Problem was, WUBA was commandeered to stand for “Woman with Unusually Big Ass”, and applied to female midshipmen. Since only males in this country can be made fun of, the designation was, of course, frowned upon.

Still, the best comback I think I ever heard was a female mid who was coming back from scuba class. When asked if she was learning to dive, she replied, “Yeah! I’m a Scuba WUBA!”

She was VERY popular, because she didn’t whine about it. She simply flipped it over. Earned great respect from her fellow mids.

So there it is in a nutshell…

There are a few others you’ll pick up. “Blue Whore” for one, referring to your rack. ;)
