hey guys, I applied last year but I had some issues and didn’t end up committing to any universities…I’m applying again this year but would it be Okay if I used the same personal statements I used last year?

Yeah, you definitely should recycle old essays to save time. But change them a little bit to reflect what happened to you last year, and what issues prevent you from committing to the UCs. Don’t just Ctrl+C Ctrl+V because your old essay is still in their system…</p>

Well I do show a strong upward trend and great internship and work experience along with some special circumstances. Furthermore, I outline all of this pretty well in my personal statement.
Sparkyboy, I guess my toughest decision is wether I should take the risk of applying to Berkeley HAAS because I probably have a better chance with Berkeley Economics. What would you do if you were in my shoes? I haven’t found any stats on Berkeley Economics admissions. Do you think my chances with Economics would be significantly higher than HAAS?

If I were you, I wouldn’t risk losing the chance of getting into Cal by applying to Haas. This year Haas will be tough since the usual rejected applicants (folks that don’t complete the 7-course breath) are ELIGIBLE. You should go with normal Econ for Cal. And Math/Econ for UCLA. Obviously, your chance would be significantly higher than Haas + BizEcon.</p>

<p>That said, if you like BizAd MUCH MORE than normal hardcore econ, I advise you to follow your heart and not everyone’s advice, including mine :)</p>
