OP is taking a cephalosporin, not clindamycin.

I have been told to take a probiotic about two hours after each antibiotic dose.

Probiotic experts, what do you think about this product:

Good one, VeryHappy!

I took another capsule with dinner, a big dinner because it is Christmas, and I feel fine. I have the feeling, though, that I might not be fine tomorrow when I go back to normal eating. I’m going to see the doctor in the late morning and I’ll discuss this with him. I often eat a big salad for dinner.

@Pennylane2011 - no, I don’t mind that it was entertaining at. The lactating mice comment cracked me up, and I was in need of a good laugh. I am often baffled by how autocorrect on my kindle interprets my typos. Believe me, mice yogurt is far less embarrassing than the autocorrected word in an email i almost sent my brother a couple of weeks ago.

Clindamycin causes C-diff @bengalmombengal? Oh my! I never knew that!

I know what you mean, swimcatsmom. The other week I was sending an email to a (very senior) colleague, and somehow “meet in your office” became “meet in your pocket” … fortunately, I saw it just before sending, and corrected it.

Off to the doctor soon, then to Whole Foods to get a probiotic.

Take that antibiotic with food, being aware of whatever interactions might be on the label. Some of us just can’t handle pills of many sorts on an empty stomach. Rice, applesauce, or given the season, cookies?

In the hospital where I work, taking a probiotic with any antibiotic related GI distress is normal procedure. The yogurts are good, but offer far fewer bacteria than the pills of probiotic.

Perhaps mice milk is a post Christmas novelty???

I’ve caught a few strange autocorrects before sending them off, and sometimes I don’t catch them. Fortunately they haven’t been too bad. I think now that everyone has autocorrect, they are a little more forgiving. At least it was your brother, swimcatsmom, not some aquaintance…yikes.

Is Florastor also a kind of probiotics?

My doctor asked me to take this after a (quite najor) surgery. I am still taking it (and it is not cheap
)

I got C-Diff as a result of taking clymdomycin. Took me almost 8 weeks to fully get over it. After many relapses vancomycin finally knocked it out
