Taking Classes at Georgia Tech

Hi, I’m a current freshman at Oxford. While I’ve always been slightly interested in studying geology, it wasn’t until after I deposited at Oxford and started reading geology textbooks at a local university’s science library that I truly became passionate about the subject. While Oxford’s environmental studies department has more than enough geology classes, most of the environmental studies courses Emory offers focus on ecology, not geology.

My academic advisor suggested I cross register at Georgia Tech via the ARCHE program ( [Emory | Office of the Registrar](<a href=“Records and Transcripts | Emory University | Atlanta GA”>http://www.registrar.emory.edu/students/arche/arche_emory_students.html) ) and take geology classes there. I understand there’s a shuttle from Emory Main to Georgia Tech, but I was wondering a) how easy it is to use, and b) how easy it is for a non Georgia Tech student to get classes at Tech.

If it’s too difficult to get the classes I need at Georgia Tech, then I’d probably try to transfer at the end of my Oxford carreer to one of the UCs, Montana State, CO School of Mines, CU Boulder, or Oregon State
