Good luck to everyone who’s still anxiously waiting!

I didn’t get an interview. I admit that I’m rather surprised, since I had gotten very psoitive feedback from almost everyone that read my essays. I have absolutely no regrets about applying though. It was worth it all just to meet Diana. And for those of you that I’ve been talking to on AIM…you’re not getting rid of me that easily. That means you, Nate. And Leila. And Patty. And Amir. And Karen. I know not all of you are on here, but forgive me; wombles tend to be rather erratic in their memory.

Good luck everyone, and don’t be discouraged if you don’t get selected.

Does it matter whether the email is sent to the Ithaca or Ann Arbor Office?

I’m still waiting; I refuse to call. I’m pretty sure I won’t get an interview, simply by virtue of the fact that my essays weren’t that great and that it seems as though the interview spots are filling really quickly. But seriously, everyone relax, it’s nice if you get in (congrats to those of you so far!), not the end of the world if you don’t. I just hope my other summer plans work out… :p

And to everyone who’s still waiting, we’ll find out soon enough!

Wow. My interviewer just called to inform me of some very good news. Oh my goodness. I am, at the moment, really really happy and a little embarrassed, because I just realized how terribly awkward I probably sounded on the phone. I was pretty much choking on my food the whole time. Sigh. I hope that doesn’t ruin her impression of me!

Good luck to those still waiting! And, as ToastWomble said, don’t be disheartened if you didn’t get an interview. You people are all amazing, as far as I can tell. :)

What was the great news daenerys?

Haha, just that I was accepted for an interview. :)

Oh Congrats :D

Oh my goodness now I can’t stop saying “oh my goodness” or focus on my APUSH notes…

Haha Daenerys EVERYONE has said the same thing about their calls.
What do you expect, you just made it one step closer to ultimate junior academic prestige, you can break your game face for a momment. :)

Congrats to everyone who found out today, and those who haven’t your attitude have been really positive and it is much appreciated.
harvard, the first to post the last to here (It sucks man)

AIDA, you called me, going to call you back now. And I dont know if I could do interview prep with you, it most likely would wildly tangent into a story of sex love and lies. (you get the gist.) AND OMG I NEED TO HERE THE SPANDEX STORY I DIDNT GO TO BED UNTIL 2AM IN ANTICIPATION… AHHHH

Toast- I guess we can’t dig a whole to whatever spot is opposite of Texas huh? We haev to meet somewhere, like…idk, Hawii (in dream land) because I didn’t get an interview either!

Time to start working on emails asking random environmental law firms in NYC for an internship.

none here either. i’m sure it was my “critical analysis” (i put it in quotes because it should really say “reeking pile of plot summary excrement”) or my class rank. I had to postmark the application 2 days before my school re-ranked, which took me from 47/462 to 24/459. i really also wish i knew how big of a deal TASP was before i sent off my application, because if i had i probably wouldn’t have waited for the weekend it needed to be mailed to write my essays. oh, well. congrats to all interviewees. ;)

Dont start pin pointing your weaknesses and attributing your rejection to a sole cause. It is not that simple. All of you are amazingly diligent and bright people, dont write yourselves off so quick.

All of our essays had weaknesses or typos (and part of the interview is exploring those weaknesses and all of us will be called out for something)

Personally I dont look at it as we wrote 5 essays, we wrote a single package. Readers weren’t reading a single essay, they read them all and judged them not only individually but as a whole and continuity and central themes played a part as well. My point is, there is more to the whole proccess than anyone knows.

Also rank doesn’t mean jack **** so dont worry about that

Karen has taken the right attitude, go find something else to do, go party IDK. Just dont write yourselves off.

:)

Heehee, procrastinate found our blog.

I don’t know quite how to feel. I only looked up the '05 blogs after I got into TASP. Ah well. Glad you found us.

Corey- =)

And don’t think I’m leaving. I have no life so as I said earlier, I’m going to live vicariously through all of you. =P

Gaspis Taspis Sasparilla!

Haha. I feel you in my soul Karen.

JustAnotherCCer: What do you expect, this thread is crazy.

edit: wow. 19/180ish are on CC, and the letters haven’t even arrived yet.

Hey

Another lurker here heh

I got an interview too and was wondering when it’s going to be. When I called they said three weeks but does that mean they tell us when in three weeks or it will be three weeks from now give or take?

And what’s the interview like? How many interviewers, what do they talk about, formal/casual etc.

Congrats to the 18 and commiserations elsewhere

Haha.
Debaser: Your interviewer (Although depending on your area you may have multiple, or even a phone interview) will contact you by phone or email in the next couple of weeks to schedule.
Depending on the local of your interview say, Starbucks vs. the telluride house you will obviously dress differently.
The interviews are mainly based on essays, but don’t be surprised by a tangent so make sure your aware of current events and such.

GL and don’t worry, just go over your essays, brush up on some books perhaps and current events.

:)
