Sounds Fancy but its just going to be some bad Wedding Food

Bids cost 70; She payed for both but Limo Cost 75$ a person. My mom payed for mine and then the girl in charge of the limo convinced my date that I wasnt paying enoough for her prom so then I had to pay out of MY OWN POCKET 75$ for her limo. Bids would have been cheaper.

Wow your prom is CHEAP. Our bids ranged from $65 (one-day promo) to $100 (last day emergency) and that was WITHOUT dinner. Oh wait…$70 dollars a person? Hmm that’d be more within range :P

And dude, what’s wrong with the girl in charge of your limo? You should have just b****-slapped her and told her, “Mind your own business, biyotch!” Seriously…I mean, the girl did ask you, and was willing to pay for bids. So why’d you have to pay for her limo? That’s silly.

Our limo only cost us $36 per person  But we crammed 12 people into a 10 person limo, lol.

Shut up, Corey! I did do my readings! :stuck_out_tongue: Just not all of them!

Yes, TASP has dances. We had like…3 or 4, I think?

I was at Swarthmore from the 18th til yesterday and someone asked me what TASP was. I said Telluride Association Stripper Program. ^_________________^

CRISIS! Swat vs. Brown, waaaah. I think I’m going to Providence from the 25th to the 28th. And I got a shirt at Swarthmore that says “Swarthmore: Guilt without Sex”. THere was another awesome one that said “Swarthmore: Anywhere else it would have been an A…really.” XD

That said, I did NOT die in 40 degree weather. Yay.

And I still need a date for prom. Sigh. I just don’t know who to ask. I don’t like anyone I know. :(

Yayy for TASP dancers.

Lol to “Telluride Association Stripper Program.” Hehehe. How amusing.

I found a poor baby orphaned squirrel :frowning: It’s so cute, and so pathetic :frowning: So now I’m off to our local humane society because its mother never came and got it :(

Those shirts sound AWSOME. They make me want to go to a women’s college (which I probably will, lol).

We have a huge dance at our school today. 400+ kids at a 200-girl school. I’m not sure if I want to go, but I probably will in the end.

I haven’t posted since before my interview (back in March). I feel a little out of the loop now, because I haven’t read every single post between now and then, but hey, you’ll all love me anyway, right?

Welcome, lurkers. Chocolatemilk, you and I have the same seminar rankings. I hadn’t expected another CC TASPer to do that. We need to klatsch.

Tako, I’m sorry about you not getting E-I-C. I was going to say something comforting here, but I’m a bad comfort-er. I send you comfort vibes.

Now…
THE INTERVIEW
The location: I take a six-hour train ride to Bad Hersfeld, in Thueringen. The train station is basically deserted because it’s going through remodeling, and Bad Hersfeld isn’t exactly a popular travel destination. I spot my cheery-looking interviewer waving from the next platform. We walk to an Eiscafe downtown.
Time: Roughly three hours.
Interviewers: One, very friendly, not at all scary. I’d been hyping up for this incredibly intense academic grilling. She really only challenged me once, when I used the term “objective” to describe the scientific method. Is anything really objective? She had a point. She also had some really thought-provoking questions.
My performance: Uuuyyuugggggghh! I suddenly developed a stutter, which is strange, because I was talking rrreealllllllllyyy ssllllllllloooowlllllllly. I felt like I was thinking in water. I was long-winded. She asked me some basic questions clarifying parts of my application to start. I write in one place, “having attended three high schools in the past three years…”, and she asked me to clarify upon that, and I launched (actually, meandered) into this twenty-minute discussion of my high schools, what I thought of each, which one I liked the best, blah blah blah…
I liked the interview, but it has rendered me permanently incapable of passable self-expression. Notice the shifting of tenses in this post.
I said nothing particularly insightful and very little that was intelligent. She was nice but I could tell I failed to leave any sort of impression. I was a mutable person. It was a mutable interview. My passion is the number-one thing I have going for me and I don’t think that came across at all. And there was this awkward period at the end where we stood around on the cold, deserted train platform, and my mom and my interviewer made small talk while I felt stupid. My thank-you note to my interviewer will be very late. Whether we get into TASP is probably secretly based on our thank-you correspondence. Oh, and I forgot how to say “keep the change” in German and looked like an ass.
I hate myself.

Oh, and an unrelated note: Pandora.com kicks it. Go there.

i thought she did get EIC

0_o your interview was 3 hours long?!?!

and that pandora thing looks pretty awesome

Three hours?! Mine was 40 minutes on the dot!

When I said I was long-winded, I wasn’t kidding. That, plus the ssssssuuuuuuper sssslllllllllllooow speech and the fact that I was apparently the only interviewee in the country add up to three hours.
Did Tako fix it and I skip over the post, or were you thinking of Karen?

Edit: (I already did, so it won’t let me again): “She really only challenged me once” should be “she really only called me out once”. It was lovely and challenging, and I don’t want to do my friendly interviwer an injustice.

Yes, that’s right: interviwir. I’m making myself stop…now.

Swat is not a woman’s college! XD That’s Bryn Mawr.

And LindeeK, lmao, Tako DID get EIC. XD

I am out of the loop. Way to go, tako. I, um, knew you could do it.

Heheheh. >_>;;;

Well, the “guilt without sex” definately reminds me of the womens’ colleges. XD

Hehehe, those shirts = quite awesome. XD

lindeek, that sounds like quite an interesting interview, and long, too! But just because it was long doesn’t mean you didn’t sound passionate. I definitely felt like I was incoherent for a significant portion of my interview.

Luckily for me, I have things to keep myself distracted from second-guessing, such as reviewing materials to give an impromptu presentation at the state math tournament (that’s right, an oral presentation about math). XD In some odd way, I love love love that event.

They had another that said “Yes, sir, may I please have another?” or something like that…Anyway.

Something along those lines, like when slaves are supposed to say “Thank you, may I please have another?” to their abusive masters? They’d say that to their teachers, when they gave 'em a lot of homework. XD

Aww Lindeek I’m sure your interview probably wasn’t as bad as you thought. Stuttering and talking slowly is normal (I happen to stammer a lot in public), and the fact that the discussion lasted 3 entire hours is a good sign, I think. Good luck! :)

Those poor, poor kids. Well, we can put it this way. Without all that tough homework, Swat would probably have to make shirts with lame sayings on them, right? :D

Is it just me or is everyone using these smiley faces? XD Interesting.
