Well see that ^^ is fine. Because your second post is a different response to something else, you know? Just like how this one is a response to your response. So that’s fine.

But when you’re posting twice in a row simply for the sake of posting twice in a row, that’s when it becomes obnoxious and unallowed.

Pssh, those losers that tell other people they have “no chance” are mostly just an envious bunch. …of course, if your SAT score was like 920/2400 or something and you wanted to get into MIT… yeah…

But seriously, most of the people doing chance threads could very well get into their “big reach” schools. lol, afterall, they get that from a group of teenagers trying to guess what the admissions officers would think - not exactly the most accurate method of knowing your chances. XD

Yeah, I don’t really see the point of “Chances” threads UNLESS you’re still making your list. Then people can recommend schools for you to check out based on your stats.

Because once you’ve made your list (and especially once you’ve applied) it’s kind of like…well what’s the point? None of the people here know how colleges think, and you might get in where nobody thought you had a chance.

As long as you have a list with a good proportion of safeties, matches, and reaches, you don’t need a chances thread. I certainly don’t plan to make one any time soon (however, my old delusional self may have made one in the past -_- what a loser I was. Actually maybe I managed to restrain myself. Hopefully.)

Prom= $1800 (My friend and i calculated how much I spent on last night. >.< apparently the majority of my friends didn’t even spend that much on their cars.)
Shrek the third= $10 (matinee and popcorn)
Walking down the streets of Colonia and into Blockbuster wearing a prom dress and fully done hair/makeup= priceless

haha yeah. My friends (asian too) and i were walking from the movie theater to the mall this afternoon and they were discussing how $50 on a pair of pants is too much. So of course I kept my mouth shut and didn’t say a single thing because the only thing i was wearing that was less than 50 were my socks. This is how i see it, if my mom is offering to buy it for me i might as well just take her up on that offer. =)

Hehe I don’t think I own a single piece of clothing that costs more than 50 bucks…except my prom dress was around $60 :P

Hmmm…yeah, actually. How sad. I can’t wait until I grow up. Actually, it’s more of an internal tendancy, so I think I’ll be cheap for the rest of my life -_- unless I marry a super rich man :D

that’s the best way to settle your finances for the rest of your life. my grandmother did it and so what if she and her husband hate eachother. I inherit all of her amazing couture. =) Okay that was really mean of me. sigh I really am too materialistic.

Lol. Its all good Karen. Good Taste is not something to be ashamed of. If i had infinite money I would buy all the clothes that I want to. That being said I really like thrift shoping.

$1800 for PROM? (gasp!) That’s quite a lot.

…if I had that kind of money, I’d totally go and buy a Mac - I really want one for college! It’ll be so cool - me with my uber-cool-virus-free-Mac striding across my dream school campus during the fall…! (dreamy eyes)

And I just got my you-got-a-740-on-your-SAT II-you’re-going-to-be-a-failure-at-life talk.

No, literally. My mom said, “Forget scholarships, you’re not even going to get into university!” and “You’re happy with a 740? You’re going to be a failure.”

740 and they’re ANGRY? Gosh… what do you usually get that they can be so skewed in seeing that score?

And completely random, but does anyone know what 5A/4A/etc. mean for schools? I’m guessing it has to do with size. I’ve tried searching wikipedia but all I got was actual rankings (as in US 1000 best high schools, lol).

You know, honestly, I don’t know. I got a 770 on Biology, I guess.

Yes, I am unhappy with my scores of 740 and I’d be a fine with a “Jenny, you did crappy. Study harder next time.”

BUT NO. Instead I get an hour long lecture about how I “think I’m so smart” and “overconfident” and “not going get into college” and “going to be a failure at life” and “think I’m smarter than my parents” and “have a terrible attitude.”

I was in the movie Bee Season with Richard Geere. I was a credited part with lines.

Jenny your parents are :-((( They seriously need to chill out. I think the most ironic thing is that they are so obsessed with making a positive impression on colleges yet they seem to be eally anti TASP. Eww I might just have to walk over to Cupertino and give them a piece of my mind.

On the note of Cupertino… MACS!!! :-P

Basically this thread has boiled down to a few remaining freaks who like UChicago and Macs. We are ballin. XD

So annoying my brothers are sleeping out in the play room tonight so I cant use the computer since the computer is in the playroom. pisefhgoighGAH. I better find something to do, even though its unlikely since its senior prom tonight. Hmm… Maybe my neighbor back from Davis.

How is Cupertino and Macs related? :S …or is that another one of your sarcastic jokes, Corey?

lol about UChicago and Macs! And wouldn’t you actually be the only one who’s into both, Corey (maybe tako too?)?

Well, I don’t like UChicago, Karen doesn’t like Mac, and tako’s love for UChicago completely overshadows her affection for Mac… yep, it’s just you. XD (I’m kidding, we’re all total nerds!) :D

Oh yeah, and does ANYONE know what 5A/4A/ect. school ranking are?
