Tasp 2007

I’ll be scrambling to finish Calculus/Physics/English homework [not really], furiously working on random essays [probably not], and flying to Chicago for a brief sojourn [only the best city on this side of the planet]

Uber, you didn’t answer my question! ;)

Trama… Doesn’t trump Prama (prom drama) but that is what it is.

I have the list as well and I was looking at it (i should be studying for finals) and i am skeptical as well. There are no obvious females from the NW region… well no UT Taspers from that region at all. Matter of fact only 3 are west of the Mississippi. And they are from Cali, Texas and Oklahoma.

Mintie aka my alter ego. Wow I am glad I created such a powerful person. It is like fight club status except we don’t beat each other up… I love that movie

And Aida, I cant use google anymore, I feel guilty as Yahoo is paying my mom exorbitant sums of money for what she does. So I use what is feeding me and flying me to TASS.

Hmmm ■■■■■■… interesting thought. She has sort of disappeared from here and her “Chance a God”

Hmmm Mintie if you want I can do that shoot myself thing from Fight Club so I can save you ;-)

TASP > jesus.
jesus= solution to all problems in the world and my life
solution to all problems in the world and my life= Harvard
Jesus=Harvard
Tasp> Harvard

You are bound to get im.

I have told the story of my mom purposefully not getting into Harvard or Yale, and yale even sent someone to her school to meet with her. I just don’t get the whole hype with HYPS. Obviously there are things that those schools do really well and if you are interested in them go for it, but most of those things are Graduate programs… Which equates into why they have such USNWR rankings, which is 25% based on the peer eval which is influenced majorly by grad school size.

Also on that note. ■■■■■ or not this is honest advice. It seems you only want to go to HYPS…Ivys because of the name prestige. Trust me even with TASP you will be another cookie cutter applicant (because thats what 99% of applicants to those schools are) and if you don’t have any passion or true desire to go there that will translate into a less than passionate application. And they train their adcoms to sense that. And they will reject it 9 times out of 10. You are well accomplished no doubt about it, some good school will accept you. But seriously do something for yourself not just what they want to see. You are just hollowing yourself out and that will lead to a life just as somber.

I have direct experience with the hiring process after college as my mom has a team of 30+ at Yahoo and she is hiring from HYPS and all the top business schools and companies around, and she tells me about all her interviews and applicants and she says she has rejected many HYPS grads the second they walk in the door just because they have no presence, they aren’t a person, they are just a cast. And when my mom is pushing the envelope with her team they cant do that. Because when you train yourself just to deliver what you tell yourself other people want you aren’t very creative or assertive. And as she says, “Passiveness is uselessness” --I love that quote.

-C

Oh sorry, did I miss your question? Let me look through your posts… I’m too lazy to press the backspace key and return to posting so I’ll assume you are talking about post 6797 where you asked:

I replied to that question in post 6799, where I attempted to the best of my abilities to address that question. The first sentence of my response was

which I hope answered your question.

:)

Yup. Don’t just live life; take it by the horns and SHAKE IT. Do what you want, have fun, don’t do things because they sound good, and have a blast. Otherwise, you’ll be miserable. YOU WILL, because I said so.

haha. Says Tako the news editor.

Grrr I have finals this week.

Monday:
Math
Drama

Tuesday:
Chem
English

Wed:
History
Japanese

ewww.

FINALS ARE A PAIN. Period. I hate finals. I think I’ll love school 250% more if finals are banned. XD

And lol, Corey, your TASP > Harvard logic was awesome.

And gosh… to think TASP is coming up so soon! XD

Sorry about that, Uber! I seem to have missed your post somehow… Weird. Don’t worry, I’m not a complete idiot as I make myself out to be :stuck_out_tongue: Anyhow, I respect and agree with your TASP Purity-ism :O) But you know, I was just wondering since I won’t have the privilege of meeting you this summer, unfortunately…

Good luck on finals, C!

Corey, Saratoga still has school?

HA. I laugh at you.

thanks. I know where you live…

Dae, it’s actually my fault you didn’t see the post. I think you read my post before I edited in my answer to your question =/. I wish we could all meet each other too! There are so(oooooo) many people at other TASPs (and still some who didn’t make it to TASP) that I’d LOVE to meet. I think there should be like a three-day inter-TASP retreat after TASP is over… But that would make TASP just feel more like a reality show (seriously, I feel like I’ll walk into the living room at TASP and a subtitle will appear with “Uber–Dork Extraordinaire”) Oh the thought, Real World: TASP–Reunion.

Speaking of reality shows, I just recently saw a really old rerun of the last season of The Beauty and the Geek. How do they make that show SO funny?! The best part is when they introduce Pi and he goes, “My name is Piao, but my friends call me Pi (makes the letter Pi with his hands),” and then a subtitle appears below his head and it reads “Pi: Never Kissed a Girl.” AAAHAHAHAHAHASKHCUNKFHJDSCKJNO!!! I laughed for an hour! The timing was so perfect.

Corey, my finals are this week too. I feel your pain =’( .

lol, reality shows… Most of them I don’t like watching though. It either creeps me out or I feel there’s better use of my time else where. :D

Gosh, we still have 45 more pages to go 'till 500! We have GOT to reach that by the 24th. ;)

No, you don’t. I, on the other hand, know exactly which Starbucks you happen to hang out at.

Whoa. Everybody posted all of a sudden. I was talking to Corey ^^

Time better spent elsewhere!??!?!? What is more productive and stimulating than reality television? HEY this reminds me, I want to go watch 3 or 4 movies that are coming out while we’re at TASP (THE SIMPSONS!!) so we better schedule them in, or else =)

500 pages, woo, post post post post post post post post post tasp post post post tasp tasp post post tasp post tasp tasp tasp post tasp post tasp tasp tasp tasp tasp tasp tasp

Do we have any Harry Potter fans here, by any chance?

whoa, cross posting GALORE!

Ironically, this post was directed at my last post, not Dae’s.

Harry Potter–never got into it, probably never will.

ME TOOOOO UBER!!! omg now i won’t feel like a harry potter outcast when our entire TASP dresses up like wizards and snapes (…) and goes to buy the book at midnight.

yay =)

Psh. Fine. You guys be losers while the rest of us partay.

Heck yeah. And I love signing yearbooks  Hehe I reserved three pages in Ellen’s yearbooks (out of 6, I know! :O) and everybody’s like three pages no way! You can’t possibly write that much! But just watch, we’re totally pro ;)
